Computer and Email Usage

Imua Physical Therapy makes every effort to provide the best available technology to those performing services for Imua Physical Therapy. Imua Physical Therapy has installed, at substantial expense, equipment such as computers, electronic mail, and voice mail. This policy is to advise those who use our business equipment on the subject of access to and disclosed of computer-stored information, voice mail messages and electronic mail messages created, sent or received by Imua Physical Therapys employees with the use of Imua Physical Therapy’s equipment.

Imua Physical Therapy actively monitors network transmissions for potential threats including malicious code, spyware and mal-ware. Electronic filtering and reporting systems have been applied to the network prevent malicious code entry and to protect confidential information stored on the Imua Physical Therapy computer network.

This policy sets forth policies on the proper use of the computer, voice-mail, internet and electronic mail systems provided by Imua Physical Therapy.

Imua Physical Therapy property, including computers, electronic mail and voice mail, should only be used for conducting company business. The systems are not for personal use or gain.

However, Imua Physical Therapyrecognizes that incidental and occasional personal use of company computers, voice mail and electronic mail system and the internet will occur and is permitted within the strict limits defined below.

*1. the electronic mail system and the internet are not to be used to create or view any offensive or disruptive messages or images. Among those which are considered offensive, are any messages or images which contain sexual implications, racial slurs, gender-specific comments, or any other comments that offensively address someone’s age, sexual orientation, religious or political beliefs, national origin or disability.

*2. The use of the electronic mail system and internet may not be used to solicit for non-job commercial ventures, religious or political causes, outside organizations.

*3. Internet for personal use is prohibited unless all work related obligations are complete and the employee is on designated break time; and the use of the computer does not disrupt or interfere with the work of others in the office. This includes the use of Twitter, Facebook, or other such media accessed from computers, phones or any other internet enabled device.

*4. Personal messages that may be permissible between 2 parties may be considered disruptive if broadcast broadly. Extreme caution should be exercised prior to distributing personal information across IPT’s e-mail system to multiple users.

*5. The electronic mail system and internet shall not be used to send (upload) or receive (download) copyrighted materials, trade secrets, proprietary financial information, or similar materials without prior authorization.

*6. The volume of personal use must be limited. Using e-mail or internet in an approved manner as described above in items 1-5 is not permissible if the volume of their use is excessive.

Although Imua Physical Therapy provides certain codes to restrict access to computers, voice mail and electronic mail to protect these systems against external parties or entities obtaining unauthorized access, employees should understand that these systems are intended for business use, and all computer information, voice mail and electronic mail messages are to be considered as company records.

Imua Physical Therapy retains the rights and the ability to enter into all aspects of its electronic systems and to inspect and review any and all data recorded in those systems. Because Imua Physical Therapy reserves the right to obtain access to all voice mail and electronic mail messages left on or transmitted over these systems, employees should not assume that such messages are private and confidential or that IImua Physical Therapy or its designated representatives will not have a need to access and review this information. Individuals using Imua Physical Therapy’s business equipment should also have no expectation that any information stored on their computer- wheter the information is contained on a computer hard drive, computer disks or any other manner- will be private.

Imua Physical Therapy has the right to monitor voice mail messages or electronic mail messages or the use of the internet. Imua Physical Therapy will inspect the contents of computers, voice mail or electronic mail in the course of an investigation triggered by indications of unacceptable behavior or as necessary to locate needed information that is not more readily available by some other less intrusive means.

The contents of computers, voice mail, and electronic mail, properly obtained for some legitimate business purpose, may be disclosed by Imua Physical Therapy if necessary within or outside of Imua Physical Therapy.

Any employee who violates this policy or uses the electronic communication system for improper purposes may be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.
