Pelvic floor dysfunction can affect individuals of any gender, race, or age over the course of their lives. 
You may have had to avoid certain activities, which can lead to a reduced quality of life. Some of these symptoms that you may experience can seem embarrassing to discuss, but you are not alone, and we can help!

What we treat: 

Incontinence: 
Pelvic floor muscles that are weak are not able to provide the support of internal organs of pelvis which can be a major factor of incontinence. Pelvic floor muscle tension or spasm, can also contribute to incontinence and in some cases rectal or pelvic pain. In most cases, incontinence can be treated through conservative measures involving bladder retraining, muscle re-education, in addition to an individualized treatment plan. 

Types of incontinence we treat: 
Stress urinary incontinence
Urge urinary incontinence 
Mixed urinary incontinence 
Fecal incontinence

Pelvic Pain: 
Pelvic pain can be described as internal or external, originating from the pelvis or rectum. Pain in this region can lead to a variety of different problems including, but not limited to constipation, pain with urination, pain intercourse and pelvic pain with daily activities. 

Women’s Specific Pelvic Floor Disorders: 
Prenatal/Postpartum rehab
Pelvic organ prolapse
Diastasis recti 
Sacroiliac or Pubic Symphysis dysfunction 
Pain with sex 
Difficulty or pain with urination 
Constipation 

Men’s Specific Pelvic Floor Disorders: 
Post-Prostate Surgery
Erectile Dysfunction
Pain with ejaculation
Pain with sex
Difficulty or pain with urination
Constipation 

What to Expect
At your initial evaluation, a physical therapist trained in pelvic floor rehabilitation, will complete an in depth assessment. You will go over general medical history and history or questions related to your current condition. A physical assessment will also be performed to identify any deficits that may be contributing to your symptoms. 
*An internal or external pelvic floor exam may be performed, only with your consent and if the therapist feels it is appropriate. 
Your therapist will go over their findings and answer any questions you may have. You will both create meaningful goals and a plan to achieve those goals.
